Grave of Fireflies - Nominated as one of the top animated movies of all time, Grave of Fireflies tells a story of Japan towards the end of World War II. If you are looking for a slash and dash and severe a certain limb off and scream out the top of your lung kind of fun, then you are looking at the wrong movie. Grave of Fireflies dig much deeper than that, and I highly recommend it to get a differing view of the tragic second world war. Its plot is the poignant tale of the relationship between two orphaned children, Seita and his younger sister Setsuko. The children lose their mother in the firebombing of Kobe, and their father in service to the Imperial Japanese Navy, and as a result they are forced to try to survive amidst widespread famine and the callous indifference of their countrymen (some of whom are their own extended family members). Enjoy the awesome story time :DPart 1

your loyal visitor
This movie's fake. The Japanese attacked us Singaporeans first in World War 2, not us.
This is a very touching movie... Who cares who attacked who first, I don't think that this movie is trying to put the blame on the American's or trying to say that the Japanese suffered more I think that it is simply trying to show the horrors of war, and the suffering of INNOCENT people during those horrible times... so all of you who are saying that you don't care because Japan attacked first... I think you are missing the point of this film completely... As an older brother I must say this is a very powerful film, I felt an ache in my chest when the baby sister die.
